Virtual Parade

Kickoff:  September 18, 2021

VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

Join us as we celebrate the first ever Roots and Heritage Festival Virtual Heritage Parade on Saturday, September 18th at 11am. Though we will be virtual, we are excited to celebrate with you again this year. In keeping with this year’s Festival theme “Black Excellence: Still, Like Air I Rise”, we are using this year’s virtual event to celebrate our collective resilience and community spirit. Because we are virtual, this year’s event creates a unique opportunity to have even more groups participate because age, accessibility, transportation, etc. are not a factor…AND it’s FREE!!! ALL registration fees for youth, community groups, and non-profits have been waived for this 2021 year. We invite your athletic team, youth, community, church, civic or social group to record and submit a 10 to 90 sec video “Shout Out”, or “appearance” to be included in this year’s Heritage Parade! The videos will be interwoven into a “procession” along with the band performances to make up this year’s parade. This is an opportunity to show up, show out and let Lexington, COVID and everyone else know that we are still here. And, because excellence runs in our blood, we STILL rise!
